This Substation Upgrade Project consisted of converting an existing 69-KV substation to 115-KV for improved reliability in the region. The existing substation footprint was expanded 4,800 square feet to accommodate new and replacement distribution and transmission components. The modifications also included the installation of a new retaining wall and temporary mobile transformer, requiring the use of approximately 45,000 square feet of timber matting for access and construction.
APT completed field investigations and assessments of potential Project impacts, prepared environmental mapping, developed impacts avoidance strategies, and assisted with agency consultations and Connecticut Siting Council filings.
