System Modifications Program

As a result of our track record and experience in New York City and the 5 Boroughs, APT was retained by a commercial wireless carrier to design and permit telecommunication system modifications at 12 tower/rooftop facilities owned by Suffolk County, NY. These sites are all managed by the Suffolk County Department of Public Works (SCDPW). APT had worked on SCDPW properties for other commercial carriers and had success in obtaining permits from an extremely demanding Jurisdiction Having Authority in a timely fashion. We were able to meet this challenge as a result of the thoroughness and correctness of the plans and specifications, statements of special inspections and County Building Permit applications.  

The scope of worked varied at each site, but generally consisted of structural analyses of antenna mounts, rooftop loading, tower and tower foundation loading, as well as civil design of ground mounted areas, utility upgrades (natural gas) and facility hardening (backup generator power). The projects involved work at the Suffolk County Commissioners Office, two State Court Buildings, a Community Center and eight tower structures located at various Suffolk County Police District and Sewage Treatment facilities.  

APT also provided Construction Administration, Inspection, and permit close out services for its client.
